Nenad Barinić was born on May 10, 1972 in Zagreb, and lives in Vukovar. Barinic is a comic artist and illustrator, designer, comic workshop facilitator, airbrush artist, constructor and designer of fishing lures, fishing journalist, blogger for Večernjak’s Blogosphere. He is an associate of the Directorate for detainees and missing persons at the Croatian Ministry of Defence; president of Moto Club “Golubica” Vukovar, secretary of the Municipal Branch of the Association of Veteran Volunteers Bogdanovci and a retired employee of the Croatian Ministry of the Interior.
He has been a member of the Association of Artists of Applied Arts of Croatia (ULUPUH) since 2009, and is a member of the Association of Comic Fans StripOs and Strip Club 85 (Gavran, Virovitica). He worked as an expert associate and illustrator on numerous documentaries, such as “Vukovarska pasija i križ put” (Eduard Galić, HTV, Zagreb 2006.), “Heroes of Vukovar” (Eduard Galić, MISSART, Zagreb, 2007. ), and the documentary “Vukovar 91” (Eduard Galić, MISSART, Zagreb, 2007).
He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, is the illustrator of several books and publications, as well as the author of the cover art, and has published the comic book “Einstein World” (2006) written by the Tihomir Mraović, “Ovčara – krik u noći” (2007), and “Ovčara – a cry in the night” (2008), the latter two used as auxiliary teaching tools in Croatian elementary and high schools. He is married and is the father is four children.
